The cutting-edge, global, virtual women’s circle, feminine support system, and online yoga & meditation retreat group that brings all the magic of a retreat, with all the connection and support of a family. This is the missing piece in our lives!
“Eternally, woman spills herself in driblets to the thirsty, seldom being allowed the time, the quiet, the peace to let the pitcher fill up to the brim.”
~Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Know it or not, life’s asking you some urgent questions:
How do we live and embody empowered, sacred, and modern femininity in a world that feels like it’s moving way too quickly? How do we slow down and stay connected to ourselves and inspired by our surroundings? Feel more sensual, womanly, and soft?
Can we get what we want without asking for and receiving the help we need? (hint: no!) What if other women were our strongest allies and confidants? What if all of us really were stronger than any of us? What would life look like if we would help each other go further, deeper, and better than ever before?
The Red Tent is for you if any of these thoughts pass through your mind on a regular basis:

- I’m way too busy.
- I feel stressed out and frazzled.
- I wish I had more energy.
- I feel disconnected from myself.
- I want to slow down.
- I don’t feel very happy
- I need more help, support, and appreciation.
- I long to feel softer, sexier, more feminine, more relaxed.
- I’m fed up with the unhealthy ways that I self-soothe (and self-sabotage).
- Everyone else seems so put together. I feel like a total mess
- I need a time -out. I just need to REST.
Sound familiar?
You are not alone.
I know these thoughts very intimately. That’s why I wrote and created The Way of the Happy Woman in the first place! I, like you, am an ambitious woman with a lot of dreams. I want to have it all. I love having a full life.
AND, I know that I need support structures and systems in place to keep my energy and soul in check. I need regular touchstones in my schedule to help me pause, rest, reflect, connect.
I need intervals of expansion and contraction. When I don’t take these, I get burned out, stressed out, and really, really grumpy! I feel bloated, can’t sleep, have terrible digestion, and forget to see the light side of life…and then everyone suffers. ‘Cuz….
“If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t no body happy!”
The world right now doesn’t honor these feminine rhythms of slowing down and speeding up. Of moving in and moving out.
And it’s really hard to stand up for them on our own.
So let’s do it together!

Throughout the centuries, our female ancestors have gathered in red tents and women’s circles, in moon lodges, in church basements, and under the stars. They knew that to live their fullest, most vibrant, turned-on lives, they needed to come together as sisters each month to rest, renew, and re-inspire.
At the midst of the information age, when we’re more addicted to technology and busyness than ever before, it’s now up to us to balance this with feminine rhythms. We need to live it, model it, and then build the structures to nurture it.
We need to find a new way, our way. We need to do it for our happiness, our health, our survival, and for the generations of women who will stand on our shoulders.
YES. It’s time for a modern-day Red Tent.
I’m ecstatic to share with you my new (revamped) virtual women’s circle, feminine support system, and online yoga & meditation retreat group, The Red Tent.
I have led virtual retreats, a virtual women’s circle, and an online women’s membership group over the past few years. These offerings have been a powerful and effective way for women to connect and drop in. But I have never combined all of these in one place.
So I had a great idea—offer these all in the Red Tent for maximum support, growth, and sustainability.
This our opportunity to gather together once more, without having to live in the same small geographic area. It answers our deepest longings for connection, in precisely the container our lives demand. It’s a global bow to the wisdom of womanhood. It’s a sacred space for all your passion, desire, questions, despair, and hope. It’s a co-exploration of the newest frontiers of femininity. It’s an opportunity to vision, create, rest, and celebrate together. It’s expansive, intimate, and resonant.
But, more than this, it’s not just a place to “talk” and share and receive “information.”
It’s a place to “be” and to practice “being”.
The foundation of my life, my business, my everything is my yoga and meditation practice. These disciplines feed my happiness and health.
I have a soul commitment to myself to go on regular retreats. On retreat I leave the world behind. And I turn into myself and the divine through yoga, silence, meditation, community, introspection.
Retreats are the most important aspect of maintaining health, happiness, and lasting feminine wisdom in the modern world.
They might seem like a luxury. But they’re not. They are a necessity for sanity. They do feel luxurious, though, like a nourishing meal, a hot bath, or a good night’s sleep do.
Self-care isn’t selfish. It must become a regular part of our lives in order for feminine rhythms to be honored, trusted, and lived. We cannot survive without doing this. We need to do this now—for ourselves, our families, our communities, our world.
In the Red Tent we will go on a “virtual retreat” together every month on the new moon, for this is the time each month that’s most conducive to rest and feminine intuition.
And the best part about these retreats is that you don’t need to travel to get to them! You can participate as you are, from wherever you are.
Together we’ll build a truly global women’s online community that allows you to feel loved, connected, and in harmony with like minded women.
Here’s exactly what we’ll do on in our monthly yoga & meditation virtual retreats:
- We’ll meet online (via phone or your computer) for 3 hours on the Saturday that falls closest to the new moon.
- I will lead you through seasonal women’s yin + yoga practices, guided meditations designed to amp up your life while amping down your stress, journaling exercises to connect you to your innate wisdom, and transformative group practices that will fine-tune the best parts of you. All of these are based (and expanded) upon the teachings in my best-selling book The Way of the Happy Woman.
- You will have a chance to ask questions and share your “Ah-hah’s” with me and the rest of the Tent.
- I will send you the MP3 of the retreat afterwards so you can practice with it later.
“…when you dare to make a deeper connection with yourself and other women, you play a pivotal rolein resuscitating the medicine of feminine wisdom in your family, your community, and your world.”
~The Way of the Happy Woman

I’ve wanted to create a space like this for a long time. I’m a world traveler who loves making our lives more fulfilling, deep, and joyful by harnessing the power of technology.
I’m thrilled to have the virtual space to answer your questions, receive your desires, and fuel your connections and conversations with one another.
Delightful magic happens when passionate women—of all ages, religions, and cultures–come together.
“We really do need one another. When we live in hurried isolation we deny the feminine values that heal and inspire us: connection, collaboration, inclusiveness, nurturance, generosity, expressiveness, and playfulness.”
~The Way of the Happy Woman
It’s time to gather for insight, inspiration, and renewal.
Come dance from your heart, sing from your toes, and build a life from your soul.
…Meet us under The Red Tent… It’s a gift from ourselves, to ourselves. And it won’t be the same without you
With love and respect,
“For many years I have dreamed about gathering with women in a sacred way… imagining what it must have been like for Cleopatra’s clan to bathe and protect her, or gestating in a tent during menstrual/moon time while the men brought iron through the kill, or just lingering on memories of shelling peas with my grandmother and great-grandmother on the front porch with the summer breezes dancing in our together-ness. For me, the heart yearning for this wisdom is a way for me to tether the wiles and ways of the modern world. Sara’s way with women, yoga, and particularly “The Red Tent” intensives, have been a major vein to the feminine mystery for me. Particularly, I am deeply grateful for Sara’s unwavering presence and ego-less knowledge. She is a master of holding space for the mystery to meet the question mark of each and every participant. The patience with which she teaches asana, breath work, and hands-on healing is the perfect remedy for coming back to the miracle that is YOU…the miracle that is often forgotten in our fast-paced living. I will carry the influence of Sara’s practice with me for the rest of my life…remembering the importance of the flowering of my softness in each pose, with each and every breath.”
“I was at a pivotal time in my life when I’d decided to deepen my experience of yoga and started a part-time yoga teacher training course. Sara’s women’s yoga retreat was a gift to myself and one of my most profound life affirming experiences to date. Sara’s heartfelt wisdom, compassion and presence sang to every part of me that was seeking to be understood and nurtured. Unplugging from a world that requires us to be ‘switched on’ in so many ways seemed foreign at first but was, in all honesty, a relief. I found myself tuning into how I was feeling at any given moment and finding refuge in the practices offered by Sara. This retreat was so much more than just yoga; and with Sara’s skillful guidance offered teachings, sharing, meditations and exercises and most importantly I left with simple, practical tools to use in everyday life. The sisterhood I experienced with this amazing group of women is one I hold dearly in my heart. I feel blessed to have spent time with Sara, since the retreat I have also completed one-on-one mentoring with Sara and her book is my bedside wisdom. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to any woman seeking or searching to become the power-filled amazing creators that we as women are!”

“When I saw the Way of the Happy Woman retreat in Thailand, I was closing up a chapter in my life that had been looming over me for four years: an injury lawsuit after I was hit by a drunk driver in a car wreck. It had been a time in my life of fear, anger, and feeling incapacitated by my injuries. I was ready to move on. I felt in my body that if the lawsuit came to a close and I could make it to Thailand, I absolutely had to. The draw was more intuitive than intellectual. My case closed on a Monday, I booked a ticket to Thailand on Tuesday and left Thursday for a week that truly changed my life. This sense of release and renewal came from the retreat because it was a time to detox, with food, yoga and in a women’s supported environment. My life was good, but had it’s internal turmoil. I was able to leave a lot of emotional and physical resistance in the healing land of Thailand, but I needed support. Since meeting Sara, working with her and the Way of the Happy Woman community, I have created an understanding for what I need in my day to day to feel happy. After the retreat, I implemented a daily practice of meditation and journaling, which has been a great way for me to recognize my patterns and release my feelings on paper. My life has been full of travel in the last several years and, at times, I feel very disconnected from community. These tools, specifically, help me to feel connected within myself when I need grounding, and to feel that the power of this women’s community can be carried within me. Sara also encouraged me to write more publicly, to give my feelings and experience a voice, which I have done with regularity on my blog since being in Thailand. My continuing work with Sara allows me to see the power of women: individually and as a community. I did not realize, until the retreat, how masculine my life was. I have made a real effort to bring more feminine energy into my life since then. I think prior to this retreat, I was living with too much rigidity. I have been able to soften, to see my own potential, to trust with more ease… but also ask myself the hard questions that are most important in reflecting on my experience of life. I gained a sense of empowerment during my time in Thailand. I realized that I knew a lot about nutrition and food, and that foundation led me to study more in 2011. I received my certification as a Natural Chef from Bauman College and now take my passion for healing through food into the world. I feel a deep connection to what Sara does, because it has allowed me to see myself in a brighter light. My path over the last decade has been of self-discovery and creating awareness in my life and work. The Way of the Happy Woman framework allowed me to go deeper and help me to see my truth more fully. The practices help me to feel more connected and clear within what unfolds in my life. For that, I am grateful!”
“Before the retreat with Sara I was a little lost and lacking direction. First of all, I was in mourning over my brother’s death at 49 years old to cancer. Losing someone close to you makes you question your purpose in life. I have a full busy life that felt a bit hectic. I am married and a Mom of 3 boys, I have a part time marketing career and I play in a band, “Bliss”, with 3 women. I was volunteering at school and for the kids sports, a lot. There were so many things I wanted to do but I was always running in multiple directions and not giving anything my full attention. My friend Heather called to invite me to join her on a retreat with Sara. At first I was hesitant, and then I decided it would be the best gift I could give ever myself. Just the act of deciding to attend was a step in the right direction. I can honestly say that The Way of the Happy Woman retreat has changed my life. It was an amazing weekend. Sara facilitated an interesting, diverse group of women in ways none of us expected. We came together in support of each other and most importantly in support of ourselves. My relationship with my friend was strengthened and I still keep in touch with some of the women from the retreat. I left the weekend with specific ideas and routines that have improved my life. One commitment I made to myself was to get on my yoga mat for just 10 minutes a day for 30 days. It was very doable and easy to commit to. That simple practice lead me to starting Yoga Teacher Training in September. I had practiced yoga for 17 years and always wanted to do teacher training, but it was “never the right time”. It was when I created my own rhythm of a daily practice that I realized what I really wanted to do. I followed my list of absolute yes and absolute no’s and made some positive changes in not over extending myself by saying yes every time a volunteer was needed at the school and never letting myself get to the point of yelling with the boys. I say yes every day to yoga, getting outside for a walk, run or hike and yes to healthy well prepared meals. I could go on, I journal in 3 different ways that Sara taught us and I try to follow the seasons of my life. It has been a remarkable year! I finished my first full length CD with my band Bliss. It is called Seconds In a Minute which is appropriate because it is about living in the moment and the decisions we make and how they affect our lives and the lives of others. I will graduate with my 200 hour teacher training in July. I am already teaching and I love it. My voice as a yoga teacher is sincere and honest in leading students in their yoga practice. My family is healthy and happy and I am a Happy Woman! Thank you, Sara!”
